So I decided to start blogging. I still have no idea what I’m going to write about on a regular basis. It may be work, shooting, video and other games, politics, daily life, or something I haven’t anticipated. I’m starting this blog partly as a journal, partly to improve my own writing and debating skills, and partly just for fun.

I will be blogging anonymously because I would like the freedom to write about both my work and private life, and in the meatspace I generally try to keep the two as separate as possible. Being an internet engineer for an ISP, I’m not under the impression that blogging anonymously is any sort of guarantee of anonymity, but it’s better than nothing.

Let’s not mince words. I intend to talk about guns at this blog, possibly a lot. Guns are not always welcome at work, and all too often the mere mention of firearms can be grounds for a good talking-to, either on or off the record. Too many bloggers, like Joe Huffman, Chris Byrne, and Kim du Toit (to name a very few) have been fired or denied employment based on opinions they’ve expressed on the internet about legal activities that they engaged in while not on company time. It’s only prudent for a blogger write with a pseudonym.

I am, to the best of my knowledge, the only person on the internet currently using the handle “Eseell”. I’ll go into the origins of the name in a future post. In the mean time, if you see an Eseell online, it’s probably safe to assume that it’s me.
