NRA Convention Day 2 I: The Floor
Saturday I woke up late and headed over to the convention around 10AM. I skipped the Member’s Meeting and met up with my friend Mike to wander the floor. This is going to be a photo heavy post so check below the fold for the good stuff.
Update: I went through and made all the images link to their original counterparts. You should be able to enlarge any image by clicking it.
For those that hate the AR15 because it’s an ugly black rifle, now you can get some beautiful wood furniture for it from ar15wood.com. Because looks are more important than actually being a lightweight modular rifle, right?
In the frame above you can sort of see the AR57,
an AR upper which fires 5.7mm ammunition from a standard FN P90 magazine and ejects spent brass through the existing magwell. Seems like a pretty cool concept, but like many of the new products I saw at the show his weekend it seems like a solution in search of a problem.
Mike sent a photo of this rifle to his girlfriend, who immediately authorized funds for its purchase.
Here is Steoger’s new coach gun, with rails. I honestly don’t know why I would want to buy one of these instead of a Remingon 870 Express or Mossberg 500.
And here are some photos of Teddy Roosevelt commemorative rifle from Winchester:
A wall of antique pistols. Check out the one with the knife on it.
I took a photo of this thing because I had no idea what the hell it is. Apparently it’s a BB Gun.
Mike commented that this rail system reminded him of Battleship. “T6: You sunk my ACOG!”
This was a really awesome-looking 1911.
Here’s a gallery of all the photos I took this weekend, you should be able to view them all at full resolution by clicking through.
